Museum of the Future has opened its gates in Dubai

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, near the iconic Emirates Towers, the Museum of the Future is now considered to be one of the top touristic attractions in Dubai.

Featuring state of the art exhibits on AI and augmented reality, the innovative museum focusing on science and technology depicts how the way our world could look 50 years from now and how the futuristic solutions could improve humanity’s life.

Designed by Killa Design, the fibreglass and stainless steel facade of the futuristic building is meant to “open a new path away from the high-rise towers that dominate skylines everywhere” and features lines from a poetry written by sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE’s Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

“The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it and execute it. It isn’t something you await, but rather create” is one of the quotes that visitors can read on the museum’s building.

With the occasion of the inauguration, UAE officials declared that the museum is “an architectural and engineering marvel, confidently straddling the past and the future and applying advanced technology to traditional art-forms.”

“The museum builds on the visionary culture that has transformed the United Arab Emirates’ into one of the most advanced nations in the world in less than 50-years. We are a showcase for the spirit of courage, optimism and innovation that propels Dubai forward.

“Like our home city, the museum is a place of tolerance, inviting varied cultural, philosophical, social and spiritual outlooks.

“Our goal is to provide light in dark times: in an age of anxiety and cynicism about the future, we are showing that things can and must progress.”

A project of the Dubai Future Foundation, the Museum of the Future is also home of the Great Arab Minds initiative scouting 1,000 Arab talents from diverse fields.

Guests of the museum will be able to enjoy game-changing technology exhibits, including elements about space travel and living, climate change, ecology, health, wellness and spirituality, as well as an amazing exterior garden featuring more than 100 local plant species.

The museum will as well host workshops and conferences with the participation of the best specialists in various fields of expertise.

Tickets start from AED145 per person, with free access for children under 3 years of age, United Arab Emirates residents over 60 and people with disabilities.
