Norwegian Sun hits iceberg and cancels cruise

"All of a sudden, boom, the whole ship shakes. And I'm like, 'Well, what's going on?' And then I had to start recording and I looked at the front of the ship and all I see is this an iceberg just turning over and coming down. And I was like, Oh my God, we hit an iceberg," passenger Benjamin Talbott from Nevada commented.
The ship was assessed by the Coast Guard Sector Juneau Prevention Team. Fortunately, there were no injured passengers or crew members, USCG stated.
According to the recent statements of Norwegian Cruise Line’s spokesperson, Norwegian Sun was following its scheduled itinerary towards the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska when it hit a piece of floating iceberg, called "growler”.
Following the impact, the cruise ship was assessed by the Coast Guard Sector Juneau Prevention Team and headed to Juneau, the Alaskan capital.
The voyage scheduled for June 30 was cancelled, so the ship can be repaired, NCL representatives declared.
Norwegian Sun is set to return to Seattle at low speed in order to disembark current guests and undergo repairs in its home port.
