British Tourists Now Flock To Jamaica
Tourists from the United Kingdom visit Jamaica at a higher rate than any other Caribbean country.
The colourful Caribbean island, renowned for its welcoming locals, outspoken charm, and huge energy, is expected to break yet another record for British tourists in 2022, making it the most popular Caribbean destination in the UK.
The island nation of Jamaica has implemented an ecologically responsible tourism recovery strategy, which has resulted in record numbers of tourists visiting the country from the United Kingdom.
With plenty of potential for expansion and rising demand, Jamaica is attracting a number of new hotel brands that will help the island add another 8,500 rooms to its existing supply by 2025. The Hard Rock Hotel, Riu, Dreams, Secrets, Planet Hollywood, Viva Wyndham, Unico, and Princess are just a few of the new hotels launching soon.
Moreover, with the commencement of daily regular flights by Virgin Atlantic Airways, British Airways and TUI, the island is conveniently reachable from the United Kingdom.
The Minister of Tourism, Honourable Edmund Bartlett, declared:
“We are working on our most ambitious tourism development and expansion plan in Jamaica’s history to meet the continued demand and interest in our beautiful island.”
Elizabeth Fox, Regional Director, UK & Northern Europe, added:
“We are very happy that Jamaica it the top Caribbean destination of choice for travellers from the UK and would like to thank all our industry partners for their continuous support and faith in our beautiful island. As we look ahead, our team has an exciting line-up of plans for 2023 and are confident that we can continue to grow our destination favourability among UK travellers in 2023, Our campaign this year is “Come Back to Jamaica”, come back to relax, come back to adventure, come back to romance, and the Brits certainly continue to do so.”
