Burj Khalifa joins the Save Soil Movement

News

The tallest skyscraper in the world, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, has lit up in order to show solidarity with Sadhguru's Save Soil Movement.

The initiative aims to draw global attention towards the urgent issue of soil degeneration and the possible solutions. The project belongs to worldwide famous yogi Sadhguru who has recently ended his one-of-a-kind 30,000 km motorcycle journey from London to India to promote the soil cause.

Sadhguru travelled for 100 days across 27 nations who actively committed to soil regeneration, while 3.9 billion people learnt about the campaign’s goals.

Burj Khalifa joined the movement with a spectacular 2-minute light and laser show promoting the Save Soil message. Sadhguru showed his appreciation and thanked the UAE government for its support and solidarity towards the Save Soil Movement, while pointing out that the soil regeneration plan needs to be actively and continuously implemented in order for the campaign to achieve its target.

“Today literally across the world, people are talking about soil, governments are discussing about soil regeneration programs, budgets are being allocated”, Sadhguru added.

“@BurjKhalifa, iconic fulcrum of UAE lighting up to #SaveSoil is a symbolic expression of commitment of the visionary leadership. The wonderful people & the sensitive leadership can make UAE an ecological leader in the region. Congratulations & Blessings to everyone of you.-Sg”, he also tweeted after the light show.

Representatives of 1Digi Investment Management, the sponsor of the spectacular event at Burj Khalifa, commented:

”Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is at the core of our business and actyv.ai is proud to associate with the Save Soil movement spearheaded by Sadhguru and Isha Foundation."

"Our collaboration with Conscious Planet is a new step in our ongoing efforts to safeguard our precious soil for the next generations", added H. E. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, UAE’s Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

Burj Khalifa has now joined several iconic locations worldwide showing support towards the soil regeneration environmental cause, such as The Niagara Falls, the Jet D’eau in Geneva, The Montreal Olympic Stadium, Toronto’s TV Tower, the Piazza del Campo (Sienna), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai, Chennai and Hubli Railway Stations, Atal Setu in Goa, Howrah bridge in Kolkata, Durgam Cheruvu Bridge and Buddha Statue in Hyderabad.

The Save Soil Movement is a program supported by UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN World Food Programme, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
