Palma Airport Unveils Major Improvements for Enhanced Passenger Experience
In early November 2024, Palma Airport announced significant improvements aimed at providing passengers with a smoother and more efficient travel experience. These upgrades particularly benefit departing travelers by simplifying both check-in and security procedures.
With the introduction of a new security checkpoint on level 2 of the main terminal building, check-in and security are now conveniently located on the same floor. This change eliminates the need for passengers to move from the check-in area on level 2 to the previous security clearance area on level 4, thereby making the journey through the airport faster and easier.
Enhanced Security Checks with Advanced Technology
The security process has also been upgraded with the installation of state-of-the-art 3D hand luggage scanners. This advanced technology allows passengers to leave liquids and electronic devices in their bags during screening, expediting the security check and creating a faster, stress-free experience.
Ongoing Construction on Level 4
Currently, level 4 of the terminal is closed to passengers due to extensive construction. The upgrades will include a new retail area set to open in time for Easter next year, promising an exciting shopping experience and a more enjoyable airport environment for travelers.
Part of a Broader Modernisation Project
These enhancements are part of a broader modernization initiative designed to expand Palma Airport and optimize passenger flow. Planned improvements include further enhancements to streamline movement through the airport, ultimately transforming Palma Airport into a more efficient and attractive hub for international travelers.
With these significant changes, Palma Airport is committed to improving the overall travel experience, ensuring that passengers can enjoy a more convenient and pleasant journey through the airport.
