Scenic Eclipse II To Set Sail For The Very First Time
The ship’s debut voyage will be the "Incredible Iberian Discovery" journey from Lisbon to Barcelona. The trip will last eleven days.
After a promising sea testing period, Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours' newest ultra-luxury Exploration Yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, has arrived to the dock in Rijeka, Croatia, for the last adjustments before her maiden voyage launching on April 13.
Testing of the 114-suite vessel took place over two consecutive weekends last month in the northern Adriatic. Scenic Eclipse II's performance is shown by a series of assessments on speed, stability, and manoeuvrability during the sea trials, marking a major landmark in the debut of the ship.
With its almost identical sister ship Scenic Eclipse, Scenic Eclipse II will join Scenic's ultra-luxury fleet on April 13. Its debut voyage will be an 11-day "Incredible Iberian Exploration" trip from Lisbon to Barcelona.
In the words of VP of Marine Operations, James Griffiths, the ship is one of a kind:
“Scenic Eclipse II has been built to the highest standards and it is fantastic to see the Discovery Yacht sail through the sea trials and surpass all expectations.
“The countdown to launch is really on now. Nearly identical to her sister ship, with a few exclusive enhancements, Scenic Eclipse II is the benchmark in ultra-luxury cruising, now taken to a new level.
“She will spend the summer season exploring the Mediterranean, Iceland and Scotland, before moving on to warmer Caribbean waters and Antarctica. In 2024, Scenic Eclipse II will also visit Polynesia, Indonesia and Australia, where Scenic was founded 37 years ago.”
The Discovery Yachts are equipped with cutting-edge technology since they operate in pristine oceanic areas, such as the Antarctic. Ships equipped with GPS Dynamic Positioning, which prevents them from anchoring in environmentally sensitive areas, are safer for marine life. Additionally, ships equipped with the Advance Azipod propulsion system are quieter, use less fuel, and are easier to manoeuvre.
Scenic Eclipse customers may leave their wallets at home since all expenses are covered onboard. Local flights, shuttles, gourmet meals, branded drinks, and once-in-a-lifetime adventures are all included.
More than fifty locations on 7 continents will be accessible in the next two years thanks to the introduction of the Scenic Eclipse II to the fleet of the ultra-luxury cruise line.
When it debuted in 2019, Scenic Eclipse established a new standard for ultra-luxury adventure ocean sailing; Scenic Eclipse II improves upon that in every way. The Eclipse yachts feature 114 spacious suites across five boards, with sizes ranging from 345 to nearly 2,600 square feet. There are also 10 different dining options, steward service for each suite, a one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio, a lavish 5,920 square foot spa sanctuary, and two on-board helicopters and a submarine for exploring the world in style. The aromatherapy in the SPA steam room was upgraded in Scenic Eclipse II, along with the ice cascade, experiential showers, and KLAFS bespoke salt treatment room with warm mattresses. The Scenic Eclipse II also features a new bar so that passengers can take in the ship's breathtaking scenery while sipping a drink and partying. There is enough room for up to eight people in the yacht's electric submarine.
Throughout the course of its 36-plus-year existence, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has expanded to encompass river and ocean cruises, as well as custom-designed land adventures, that transport visitors to some of the world's most intriguing locations. When it comes to five-star luxury river voyages throughout Europe and Southeast Asia, Scenic has been the industry standard since 2008.
