Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has announced the partnership with Le Touessrok, Mauritius, Shangri-La being its new managers.
This means that the management of the resort will get into Shangri-La’s portfolio as of August 2014. As of 2015, the Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius will be fully branded, functional and most of all, refurbished.
The current news is paved by the signing of a joint venture agreement between Shangri-La Asia Limited and the current resort owner, Sun Resorts Limited.
Shangri-La Asia now owns 26% of the property.
“Mauritius is a jewel in the Indian Ocean with white sand beaches.
“We are excited about the opportunity to invest in and manage a property such as Le Touessrok Resort, which has a rich history and legendary reputation for superb service.
“With the addition of Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius to Shangri-La’s portfolio, our guests will have another exotic destination to choose from in our growing collection of resorts in Asia and the Indian Ocean,” - Greg Dogan, Shangri-La president
The resort has spectacular five star standards and potential, with splendid views which make it one of the most sought after destinations in the world.
It includes 200 guestrooms and suites and three villas, all with sea view.
What makes this location even more interesting, aside from the multitude of water and land curricular activities, is the fact that it offers guest access to two of the most exclusive islands. Ile aux Cerfs holds a renowned golf course designed by Bernahrd Langer while Ilot Megenie is great for private retreats with 3.5 km of beach.
Until its full rebranding in 2015, the resort will operate under its current name, Le Tousserok.
