Hotels & Resorts

Celebrating 35 years since its first environmental policy, Radisson Hotel Group releases its 2023 Responsible Business Report, highlighting significant strides towards its Net Zero by 2050 goal and ongoing community and environmental initiatives.

Radisson Hotel Group has released its 2023 Responsible Business Report, commemorating 35 years since it pioneered the first environmental policy in the hospitality industry. The report outlines the group's continued commitment to sustainability and details significant achievements in its mission to become Net Zero by 2050.

This year's report showcases Radisson's progress across three key areas: Think People, Planet, and Community. It highlights the Group's strategic efforts to enhance its sustainability practices and meet the growing consumer demand for green travel options. Radisson Hotel Group has made substantial advancements, notably a 35% reduction in carbon footprint per square meter since 2019, aligning with its ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 46% by 2030.

Federico J. González, Executive Vice Chairman of Radisson Hotel Group, emphasized the integration of sustainability with the company's strategic vision. "Sustainability is not just an initiative but a core aspect of our 5-year strategic plan, closely linked with driving our vision as a meaningful brand for guests, owners, and talent. We are committed to growing sustainable travel and integrating it as an intrinsic part of our operations across our 10 leading brands," he stated.

The report also highlights the Group's active role beyond its operational boundaries, participating in industry-wide initiatives like the Pathway to Net Positive Hospitality and the Hotel Sustainability Basics. Radisson is a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration and supports the Nature Positive vision, positioning it as a leader in driving the hospitality industry's sustainability transformation.

Key Achievements from the 2023 Report:

  • Think People: Radisson Hotel Group remains committed to diversity and inclusion, providing extensive training and development opportunities, with over 1.5 million hours recorded in 2023. The Group maintained an 83% overall team member engagement score and increased women in leadership roles to 32%.
