SAS Expands Copenhagen Hub with New Routes and Summer Leisure Destinations
SAS is further expanding its Copenhagen hub with the introduction of two new destinations — Wroclaw and Bilbao — as part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen Scandinavian connectivity. In addition to these new routes, SAS is adding five new leisure destinations for the peak summer season of 2025, further solidifying Copenhagen’s status as a key travel hub in Northern Europe.
New Destinations to Explore
Starting in the summer of 2025, SAS will introduce direct flights to Wroclaw, a historic city in southwestern Poland, and Bilbao, a cultural gem in Northern Spain. These additions come shortly after the airline’s recent launch of flights to Seoul, bringing the total number of new routes from Copenhagen to 19 for the summer season.
Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS, shared: “With the addition of Wroclaw and Bilbao, along with the launch of 19 new routes from Copenhagen, we remain committed to enhancing connectivity and meeting the diverse travel preferences of our customers. Copenhagen continues to serve as a pivotal international gateway to and from Scandinavia and Northern Europe.”
New Leisure Routes for Summer 2025
To meet growing demand for leisure travel, SAS is introducing five new routes to popular holiday destinations for the summer of 2025. From Copenhagen, travelers will be able to fly directly to Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, and Varna, located on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
In addition, new routes will be launched from Oslo, Bergen, and Stockholm. Oslo will gain direct flights to the Greek island of Rhodes, while Bergen will offer direct connections to Málaga-Costa del Sol in Spain. Stockholm will add a new route to Bodø, a gateway to outdoor adventures in northern Norway.
A Robust Network for Summer Travel
With these additions, SAS’ summer network will feature 240 routes, including 108 from Copenhagen, 63 from Stockholm, and 50 from Oslo, with additional routes from other Scandinavian cities like Gothenburg, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Kristiansand. This expanded network will provide travelers with greater flexibility and access to a wide range of destinations across Europe and beyond.
A Comprehensive Travel Network
These developments highlight SAS’ commitment to offering a flexible and diverse network that meets the varied travel needs of its customers. By expanding its Copenhagen hub and adding new leisure destinations, SAS is positioning itself as a leading carrier for both business and leisure travelers in Northern Europe.
