Spain is the top destination choice for UK travellers, new survey says

Despite children under the age of 12 not being allowed to enter Spain if unvaccinated, the country remains in top preferences for travellers visiting from the UK.

Current pandemic-related travel regulations require full vaccinations for Brits visiting Spain, the Canaries and Balearic this half term.

The top 10 destination choices also includes the UK and France, latest Staysure research announces.

Ryan Howsam, CEO of Staysure Group commented in recent statement:

"It’s really encouraging to see this, our figures clearly show that Brits are now determined to get away on holiday and the increase in demand demonstrates the peace of mind they’re looking for with our Superior Covid cover.

"We normally see an uplift before the February half term, but this year demand has gone through the roof. It’s refreshing to also see that people are being more adventurous with their choice of destination, it shows they’re keen to make up for lost time!

However, UK-based holidays continue to remain popular among Brits, as 1 out of 10 citizens will favour a “staycation” with the family.

Also, as noted by Staysure, the relaxations of travel rules for UK has led to a 32% increase in website visits, with ski holidays in Italy and France popular among visitors.

Nevertheless, travellers are advised to always check the Foreign Office for restrictions and travel advice during the pandemic, before booking stays in any of their countries of destination.
