The Brand-New Roller-Coaster Ride At Dollywood Opening Shortly

With the addition of a new roller coaster, festival, and resort, the 2023 season at Dollywood has the potential to be the park's busiest ever.
The Big Bear Mountain roller coaster will debut this year’s spring and will hold the record for being the longest ride in the park's history. It's also the most expensive single attraction at Dollywood, costing $25 million.
Pete Owens, Dollywood's VP of marketing and public relations, claims that the ride's abrupt bends would make visitors feel like they're experiencing "zero Gs" in their stomachs. According to Owens, the coaster's minimum height limit of 39 inches was established so that whole families may enjoy the ride together.
Owens said that the park's primary focus has always been on strengthening family bonds.
"By creating ride experiences that involve the whole family, that really is part of what we do, and that follows through with the mission of the park and what Dolly wants us to do", he added.
The steel roller coaster has more various exciting and outstanding specifications, such as:
Length: 3,390 feet
Maximum Speed: 49 miles per hour
Maximum Height: 66 feet
Ride time: 1 minute and 40 seconds
Three separate blastoffs
Double-down with a twist
Rapid carousel twists and spins
Several tunnel exits, including one waterfall
At the same time, the HeartSong Lodge and Resort at Dollywood is also set to debut this autumn, as the facility, which will have 302 guest rooms, is making steady building progress. Based on Dolly Parton's admiration for the Smoky Mountains, the resort features astonishing mountain views from the balconies of half of the rooms.
In addition, the HeartSong Lodge and Resort offers many other conveniences:
- free door-to-door service between the resort and the park
- free delivery of anything purchased at the park
- 4,000 square foot atrium lobby
- a total of 26,000 square feet of available indoor and outdoor event space
- countless entertainment and shopping options
- updated shows, menus, and exclusive events
The next spring season at Dollywood will honour the 50th anniversary of Dolly Parton composing one of her most famous songs, "I Will Always Love You". Concerts by musicians including Natalie Grant, Jo Dee Messina, and Lauren Alaina will be part of the event, which begins on March 11 and ends on April 8. Dollywood will also be hosting its annual Flower and Food Festival (April 21–June 11) and Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks celebration (June 17- Aug. 6).
With an extra 21 days, this season will be the longest on record.
