TripAdvisor’s 12th Annual Global Awards kicked off in 2014 with the world’s best accommodations.
This year’s festivities included categories like B&Bs and Inns, Bargain, Family, Luxury, Small Hotels and the February special, Romance.
The list of winners for 2014 sets off with some big and familiar names while adding a few new ones, spicing up the accommodation market.
"We're excited to recognize the world's best properties, based on the opinions of those who know them best – the millions of travelers around the globe who come to TripAdvisor to share their experiences," said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
"For those seeking inspiration for their 2014 travel planning, this list of spectacular accommodations that received 2014 Travelers' Choice awards is a perfect place to start."
The award winners have been picked due to the reviews and opinions expressed by millions of TripAdvisor users from all around the world. The list of awards sums up none less than 7,123 unique properties worldwide.
Country-wise, Italy takes home the win with 152 unique hotel winners, U.K. featured a number of 145 and the U.S. and France shared the same place with 144 award winners each.
