Emirates Airlines Goes Digital and Eliminates Paper Boarding Passes

Emirates Airlines starts requiring passengers leaving Dubai to use a mobile version of their boarding passes.
Emirates, in an effort to provide its customers with the convenience and security of digitally enabled travel, will begin requiring that most passengers leaving Dubai use a mobile version of their boarding pass, instead of a paper printed version, starting 15 May.
Passengers who check in online at Terminal 3 can receive their mobile boarding passes via email or SMS. Online check-in passengers can download their boarding passes to their Apple Wallets or Google Wallets, or access them via the Emirates App. Passengers can also receive the baggage receipt via email or in the Emirates App.
This initiative will reduce the amount of paper used while offering passengers departing Dubai a fast and convenient digital check-in experience. This reduces the chance of misplaced or lost boarding passes and gives passengers peace of mind while travelling.
Mobile boarding passes can be used for the entire journey, including at Dubai Duty Free, security, and boarding. Simply show the mobile boarding card on your phone. The mobile boarding passes will be scanned by airport staff and Emirates agents as the passengers pass through the airport.
Some passengers will still need to print a physical boarding card. This includes infants, unaccompanied children, passengers who require special assistance, those with subsequent flights with other airlines and passengers flying to the US.
If you do not have your own mobile device or are unable access information from it for any reason, such as a lack of battery, system failure or glitch, delayed message delivery, or an inability to connect to WIFI or network, Emirates agents can print out a boarding card.
Emirates has already enabled digital travel for millions of passengers. The Emirates app allows passengers to check in and manage their itinerary quickly. They can also create a digital playlist with favourite movies, TV series and music.
Enjoy smooth biometric travels in Dubai
Passengers who have registered can now travel seamlessly through the airport using biometric machines and smart gates.
UAE residents can register at Emirates Terminal 3 to use Smart Gates and speed up immigration every time they return. Residents and citizens of the UAE can use their passports, boarding passes, or valid UAE IDs, while visitors or GCC nationals who are eligible for visa-on-arrival can use a biometric passport.
