Hyatt Regency Indian Wells to Rebrand as Grand Hyatt After $64 Million Renovation

Hotels & Resorts

Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) and Trinity Investments are excited to announce the rebranding of Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa to Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas, set for September 2024. This rebranding follows a comprehensive $64 million renovation, ushering in a new era of luxury at the iconic Southern California desert resort.

Transformative Renovation and Rebranding

The extensive renovation includes redesigned guestrooms, suites, and luxury villas. Guests will experience an expanded lobby, enhanced accommodations, refreshed meeting and event spaces, two new dining concepts, and a reimagined pool complex with extended cabana offerings.

Susan Santiago, President of U.S. and Canada at Hyatt, stated, “Grand Hyatt hotels showcase bold and vibrant design and architecture, creating captivating destinations within a destination. The newly renovated and rebranded Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas will introduce guests and members to an elevated level of hospitality.”

Elevated Guest Accommodations

The redesign, led by the renowned Southern California firm IndiDesign, will reflect the serene beauty of the locale. The property will feature 531 upgraded accommodations, including 39 spacious suites and 43 luxury villas. Each room will combine mid-century modern design with natural tones and wood accents, offering expansive views of the Indian Ocean or the city through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells will provide luxurious guestrooms with 550 square feet of living space, available in various configurations. Suites will include separate living areas, spa-inspired bathrooms, private patios or balconies, and convenient pool access. The luxury villas will offer exclusive features like private backyards with hot tubs, plunge pools, or fire pits, along with dedicated concierge services.

New Dining Concepts

This fall, the property will introduce two new restaurant concepts in collaboration with acclaimed Chef Angelo Sosa. Tía Carmen, inspired by Sosa’s aunt and celebrating the Southwest's local landscape and community, will bring a modern Californian flair. Carmocha will reimagine global small plates, offering a unique twist on international flavors. Additionally, the resort’s lobby marketplace will provide all-day culinary offerings, including a coffee bar, sandwiches, and treats.

Enhanced Pool Experience

The resort’s popular pool area will see significant enhancements, including expanded cabanas and new dining options like the food truck Palmadoro’s, serving pizza and Italian bites. The refreshed café will offer poolside favorites. The pool complex, featuring HyTides Waterpark with expansive pools, dueling waterslides, a lazy river, and a splash pad, will provide a fun-filled experience for families.

Premier Event and Wellbeing Spaces

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells will offer 88,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, ideal for weddings, special events, and corporate retreats. The resort’s Agua Serena Spa will unveil new enhancements, and the collaboration with Kalologie MedSpa will provide guests with rejuvenating services like IV hydration therapy and B12 energy boosts.

Prime Location and Activities

Located near the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, home to the BNP Paribas Open, and a short drive from Palm Springs International Airport, the resort places guests close to shopping, culture, and entertainment in the Coachella Valley. The property also offers tennis and pickleball courts and world-class golf courses.

The rebranding to Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas marks a significant milestone, blending luxury, comfort, and a vibrant new design to create memorable experiences for every guest.
