Ryanair Launches Its Largest Summer Schedule for Cluj-Napoca with Major Growth
Ryanair, acclaimed as Europe's top airline, has today (March 28) announced its largest summer schedule yet for Cluj-Napoca, marking a significant expansion with 5 routes to popular destinations including Brussels, Dublin, London, Milan, and Paris. This ambitious Summer 2024 schedule aims to carry 285,000 passengers, reflecting a 40% increase from the previous year, across 30 weekly flights. This surge in operation not only bolsters the local economy but also supports over 230 jobs in the region.
Celebrating its fifth year of operations in Cluj-Napoca, Ryanair's continuous growth underscores its commitment to the area, despite competing airlines such as Wizz Air reducing their European presence. This expansion is timely, as Romania's inclusion in the Schengen Area from March 31, 2024, promises easier travel between member states for over 420 million citizens, a development Ryanair is eager to support with a special 3-day seat sale starting from just €24.99.
Mauro Bola, Ryanair's Head of Communications for Italy & Eastern Mediterranean, highlighted the airline's dedication to connecting Cluj-Napoca with key European cities, boosting both passenger numbers and local employment. In contrast, he noted the decline of other carriers, particularly Wizz Air, which has scaled back operations significantly.
To commemorate Romania's entry into the Schengen Area—a boon for air travelers—Ryanair has launched a limited-time offer, inviting passengers to take advantage of reduced fares available exclusively on ryanair.com.
David Ciceo, CEO of Cluj International Airport, welcomed Ryanair's increased flight frequencies and passenger projections for the summer of 2024, acknowledging the airline's strong confidence in the airport and the region's growing demand for air travel. He expressed enthusiasm for the enhanced partnership and the benefits it brings to travelers, including greater flexibility and choice.
Cluj International Airport is dedicated to improving passenger services and facilities, working closely with Ryanair to expand the route network and enhance the overall travel experience for those flying from Cluj.
This expansion by Ryanair not only strengthens Cluj-Napoca's position in the global air travel network but also signifies the airline's unwavering commitment to regional development and customer satisfaction.
